TWO people have appeared at court accused of stealing more than £110,000 from an elderly woman.
Lucie Davis, 60, appeared before magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe yesterday, co-accused with Peter Davis, 51.
The pair, who both live at Bryans Leap, Burnopfield, near Durham, deny stealing £111,840 from a woman in Burnopfield.
They pleaded not guilty to one charge of theft, including theft by finding.
The offence is alleged to have taken place over a period of more than two years, between January 1, 2016 and May 16, 2018.
Mr and Mrs Davis, who were represented in court by David Mallone, will face trial for this matter at Durham Crown Court.
Their next court appearance will be on the morning of November 24.
