POLICE have confirmed they are trying to trace those responsible for setting off fireworks at a busy road junction at the weekend.
The shocking incident was caught on CCTV and showed three teenage boys running away after lighting and throwing fireworks into a traffic light junction in the Raby Road area of Hartlepool.
On Monday morning, Cleveland Police confirmed: βAt 9.25pm on Saturday we received a call from a member of the public reporting a group of three or four teenage boys had set off a firework in the Raby Road area of Hartlepool.
"Officers attended and searched the surrounding areas but were unfortunately unable to locate the people described.
"We would remind people this antisocial behaviour is also extremely dangerous and it could lead to serious injury or worse.
"Please contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number quoting Ref 175139 if you have any information.β
