Homes by Esh is reporting a busy post-lockdown housing market as buyers seek to make changes with a property upgrade or more outdoor space, or to move to a home in a more rural setting.

Homes by Esh reported a steep increase in enquiries over summer as favourable interest rates spurred people into action to secure a new home following the re-opening of the property sector.

New homes at Lancaster Park in Middleton St George and West Park Garden Village in Darlington enjoyed particularly strong sales.

Buying a new home has never been easier thanks to the Help to Buy scheme and stamp duty holiday which are available for homeowners and first-time buyers until March 2021.

The Help to Buy scheme has helped thousands of people move up or onto the property ladder since its inception in 2013. As the scheme starts to wind down in its current form, homeowners hoping to utilise it for their new home purchase are advised to have a property reserved by December 2020, with completion no later than March 31, 2021.

Colin Willetts, deputy managing director of Homes by Esh says: “Help to Buy has been hugely successful, supporting people into their dream homes with just a five per cent deposit. However, Help to Buy in its current form will be replaced with a scheme for first-time buyers only. To qualify, they will need to buy a property up to the value of £186,200 in the North-East.

“The imminent changes mean potential homeowners hoping to use the Help to Buy scheme have a limited window to take advantage of it. We have a number of plots across our developments eligible for Help to Buy and are urging anyone interested in the scheme to be aware of the upcoming changes if they are considering a purchase.”

Lancaster Park at Middleton St George has a wide range of properties priced from £184,995. The development of 55 homes offers the ideal environment for buyers looking for the peace and quiet of a village location but with the added practicality of easy access to nearby Darlington and the A1.

One of the homes available is The Larch house type, a detached three-bedroom, two-bathroom property priced from £184,995 which features  the classic stone exterior and grey uPVC windows of a Homes by Esh property as well as a high-quality kitchen and living space on the ground floor, contemporary design and a superior interior specification as standard.

Homes by Esh prides itself on creating homes built with more in mind. Each property at Lancaster Park includes a HIVE smart meter as standard in addition to fixtures from high-quality brands such as Porcelanosa and Hansgrohe.

“The location of Lancaster Park continues to be a major draw for homebuyers looking for the community atmosphere of a village but the high-quality, practical space of a new home,” added Colin. “As a company we aim to create properties which are unique to the market and have been delighted with the kind words and overwhelmingly positive feedback of the current community of new residents at Lancaster Park.”

There are seven different three and four-bedroom house types available at Lancaster Park, priced from £184,995.
