A NUISANCE biker saw his afternoon of inflicting misery on members of the public brought to an abrupt end yesterday after being caught by police.

The rider had been reported by a member of the public after taking the bike into Fulneck and Black Carr Woods in Pudsey on Sunday.

Police said they have received numerous calls about nuisance quads and off road bikes in the woods in recent weeks, and one Pudsey resident confirmed the bikes are "very annoying" and that the town is "plagued by quad bikes at the moment".

When the call came in, the Leeds District Off Road Bike team were in nearby Calverley and able to quickly respond.

Due to the noise of what police called his "(not so) 'bad boy' exhaust", the rider didn't hear officers approaching until he was trapped between them on their Honda CRF bikes, in what police called a "CRF sandwich, and he was the filling".

Police added: "The rider got a shock when he became the filling in a CRF sandwich.

"The bike was seized and the rider will have another shock when they get to court."

Regular patrols are ongoing in the Fulneck and Black Carr Woods area, which are popular routes for walkers.
