THE following cases were heard at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistates’ Courts in the last week.

SEAN HARRIS, 35, was given a 16-week consecutive prison sentence after he beat two police officers on October 17, of this year, at Shotton Colliery. The Greenford Road, Consett resident, also damaged a police vehicle whilst in custody. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation.

ANTHONY HAYMAN, of Murrayfield Way, Darlington, appeared in court accused of sending messages with intent to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety on December 28, 2019. The 24-year-old pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £90 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. Hayman also filed a false report to Durham Police on the same day.

SCOTT MICHAEL HILTON was discharged conditionally for 12 months and handed a restraining order after he damaged a property door and a power cable on July 18, 2020, at Darlington. Hilton, of Woodlands Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to the offence. The 33-year-old was ordered to pay £22 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

DANIEL ERON STERLING, 26, of South Rowe, Eldon, pleaded guilty to stealing a mobile phone on January 20, of this year. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

CHANTELLE WARLOW, of no fixed address, was given a one-week consecutive prison sentence after she failed to comply with supervision requirements made following release from prison. The 26-year-old admitted the breach.

CHIRSTOPHER FREDERICK WISEMAN, 38, of James Street, Murton, was found guilty of harassing a man between June 21, of this year and June 24. He was handed a community order by the court and made to pay £95 to fund victim services. Wiseman was also made to pay a court fee.

JACK CRIDDLE, 18, was fined £80 for being drunk and disorderly at Skinnergate, in Darlington on September 12, of this year. The Warkworth Way, Darlington resident, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

CRAIG DIXON, 34, of Ninth Street, Blackhall Colliery, was discharged conditionally for six months after he committed fraud on December 26, 2019. He indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £21.20 compensation.

KYLE STEPHEN GRAVESON, 26, was accused of committing fraud on December 26, of last year. The Tees Street, Horden resident, indicated a plea of guilt and was discharged conditionally for six months. He was also made to pay £9.60 compensation.

CARLY MARIE MALCOLM, of Tees Street, Horden, was discharged conditionally for six months after committing fraud on December 26, of last year. The 33-year-old was also made to pay £49.42 compensation.

STEVEN PETER ORR, 45, was handed a community order after he stole two bottles of champagne from McColls on May 6, of this year. The Salters Lane South, Darlington resident, was ordered to pay £60 compensation.

SIMON RUSSELL MOORE, 37, of South View, Consett, was fined £300 after he stole 16 boxes of laundry detergent from Bargain Buys Store, on April 5, 2020. He pleaded guilty and was made to pay £87.84 compensation.

ANDREW GEORGE TARREN, 40, was discharged conditionally for six months after he stole bags of clothes donated to the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) charity shop in Peterlee, on August 26, of this year. The Warren Street, Horden resident, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £100 compensation.

AYDEN SEAN CARRICK, of Thomas Court, Darlington, was given a 16-week prison sentence suspended for two years after he beat two police officers on September 27, 2020, at Darlington. The 28-year-old indicated a plea of guilt.

DANIEL ROBERT CONROY, 23, of Ruby Street, Darlington, was given a six-week consecutive prison sentence after he beat a woman on February 19, 2020, at Middlesbrough. On the same day, he beat a police officer and was handed a restraining order. Conroy was also ordered to pay £120 compensation.

SHADAB AZAM was fined £266 and given six penalty driving points after he drove without due care and attention on November 9, of last year, at Annfield Plain. The South View, Annfield Plain resident, pleaded guilty. Azam, 41, was made to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SAMUEL BEAU CALLAGHAN, of Roberts Walk, Darlington, was fined £80 after he assaulted a man by beating him on March 10, 2020. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £50 compensation. Callaghan, 19, was also ordered to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JAMES MICHAEL TURNER, 29, of Church Street, Coundon, was fined £323 after he was caught carrying an offensive weapon in Bishop Auckland on March 25, of this year. He indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. The weapon was forfeited.
