A CHARITY has launched a scheme to help people at risk of loneliness during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic with the help of a £100,000 grant.
Finchale Group has started its Outreach Support Project thanks to the Barclays Community Aid Package Donation.
Families are being offered a range of virtual activities and learning opportunities to help tackle social isolation.
The money means it can now help improve the mental and physical health of some of the most vulnerable families in the region by enabling families to connect digitally to others and offer virtual activities, counselling and learning opportunities.
Charity spokeswoman Vikkie Wilkinson said: “Thanks to the Barclays donation we have be able to put in place our Outreach Support Project enabling families to remain connected to the outside world, to keep physically active and improve their wellbeing by remaining mentally engaged.
“This support means that going forward we will be able to help families to prepare life after lockdown.”
