A FURTHER 1,281 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the North-East and North Yorkshire in the last 24-hours.
This brings the total number of cases recorded in the region to 53,205.
There have been a total of 2,894 reported Covid deaths in the North-East since the start of the pandemic and 4,949 in the Yorkshire and Humber, according to the Government’s figures.
There have been 150 further deaths reported in the UK within 28-days of a positive Covid case, bringing the total number up to 43,579.

Northumberland: 4,153 was 4,067 an increase of 86
Redcar and Cleveland: 1,694 was 1,620 an increase of 74
South Tyneside: 2,908 was 2,855 an increase of 53
Stockton: 2,970 was 2,820 an increase of 150
Sunderland: 5,501 was 5,387 an increase of 114 York: 2,555 was 2,474 an increase of 91
