DurhamWorks is a programme for unemployed 16 – 24-year olds living in County Durham. To date, DurhamWorks has supported 7,500 young people in the county. They provide one to one tailored support which includes confidence building, training, work skills and recruitment advice to help get them back into education employment or training.

DurhamWorks is a partnership programme with Durham County Council, ESF and the Youth Employment Initiative. Working with 7 delivery partner organisations, DurhamWorks provide tailored training and employment opportunities to each individual young person within the programme.

DurhamWorks will work closely with you to find the right young person for the role you have available. They will support you as the employer and the young person in the early days of recruitment to ensure you both receive the training and advice needed to secure a successful candidate.

If you own a SME business, you may be eligible for a DurhamWorks grant of up to £2,500.  The grant is designed to help towards the salary cost of employing a 16 – 24-year-old who is on DurhamWorks. The grant could last for up to 6 months. It cannot be used to support apprenticeships.
