A STAFF member was left shaken after two men threatened him with what is believed to be a baseball bat during a cash in transit robbery this morning.

It happened at the Oxbridge Mini Market on Oxbridge Lane, in Stockton, at around 6.55am when two men entered the store, threatened the man with what is believed to be a baseball bat type/wooden handled weapon and stole a large amount of cash.

The store worker was not physically harmed although he was left extremely shaken.

The suspects are believed to have left in a black Vauxhall Insignia car.

One is described as wearing grey bottoms and grey jacket, the other in a long sleeved blue jacket. Both had their faces covered by balaclavas.

Detectives from Stockton CID remain at the scene conducting inquiries and their neighbourhood police team colleagues will conduct extra patrols in the area and provide a reassuring presence.

Police would like to speak to witnesses, people with dash cam or private/business CCTV which could help to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting ref 166303.
