POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 12-year-old was assaulted,
Officers are investigating the incident, which happened in Hartlepool on Saturday, September 26, at about 5.30pm.
The incident occurred between the Cosmopolitan pub on Durham Street and St Hilds Church in the Headland when the victim, who was with a female friend, was punched in the face by a male who was wearing all dark clothing.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to her face.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information regarding the male responsible to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 158050.
