A YOUTH who pleaded guilty to causing affray in the minutes leading up to the death of a popular man has been back before the courts.

Edwin Taha admitted his role in the affray which ended with Luke Jobson's body being recovered from the River Tees last January.

Last week, the 20-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge on the day his trial was due to start last week.

Taha, of Lavender Way, Norton, admitted a further three drugs offences at Teesside Crown Court this week.

He pleaded guilty to three drugs charges, including two of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply in Stockton last December.

The three separate offences come after he was caught with quantities of cocaine, Ecstasy, and ketamine.

Taha will now be sentenced for all four offences on October 30.

His affray co-accused, Ali Abdulmajieed, of Corvus Drive, central Stockton, pleaded guilty to affray last week and will be sentenced at the same time as Taha.

The charges against Ryan Alpay, 19, of Duneside, Elm Tree, Stockton and Hammad Asif, 18, of Osborne Road, Stockton, who had both denied affray, were not proceeded with by the prosecution and will remain on file.

A teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has already been sentenced for his role in the affray.
