The doors have now opened on the council’s latest housing development in Darlington.

The latest scheme from Darlington Borough Council has seen the construction of 12 two-bedroom houses and two three-bedroom homes in Mickleton Close, Lascelles Park where tenants have now moved in. Each new house offers all the benefits of a spacious modern home, as well as a garden and off-street parking.

The development is the latest in a new-build programme from the council, which has resulted in more than 200 homes designed and built across the borough, with plans for 100 more properties each year for the next ten years.

Councillor Kevin Nicholson, cabinet member for health and housing, said: "We are keen to provide more affordable homes. Our vision is to build strong and balanced communities, making sure properties are available for working families as well as older people and those in most need."

Work is also currently underway on phase two of Lancaster Close, Darlington, due to be completed in 2021.
