POLICE have seized a motorbike and the rider has been arrested for reportedly assaulting an officer and driving offences.
A motorbike was seized last night (Wednesday) and the rider was arrested on suspicion of five offences by Stockton Neighbourhood Officers.
Police sighted the rider on Bridge Street in Stockton and he reportedly failed to stop for officers.
The motorbike was then reportedly pursued through Thornaby and into Middlesbrough where the male rider left his motorbike and was pursued on foot by police.
Whilst the man was being detained he reportedly assaulted a police officer with his motorbike helmet.
The man aged-32 was arrested on suspicion of driving dangerously, driving without a license or insurance, failing to stop for police and assaulting an emergency worker.
He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
