A STAFF member at a branch of McDonald's on Teesside has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating.
The staff member, who works at McDonald's on Portrack Lane in Stockton, received a positive test result earlier this week.
The fast food chain has since confirmed the restaurant was given an enhanced clean and all restaurant employees were contacted.
A spokesperson for McDonald's told The Northern Echo: “One employee at our Portrack Lane restaurant has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating.
"The member of staff has not worked in the restaurant for over a week.
"As soon as we were informed, the restaurant was given an enhanced clean as a precautionary measure and we contacted all restaurant employees.
"We have a number of safety measures in place to help keep our people safe, including perspex screens, temperature checks at the start of each shift, maintaining a two metre distance from others as much as possible, face coverings, regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitiser."
