A CANNABIS farm has been seized by police in Middlesbrough.

Acting of information from the public, officers attended an address in Kindersley Street, in North Ormesby, yesterday.

They found a number of cannabis plants, as well as other rooms in the house which had been prepared for growing more plants.

The electricity in the property had been bypassed, causing a danger to neighbouring properties, a spokesperson for Cleveland Police said.

Sergeant John Sproson, from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is another blow to organised criminals who come into residential areas to conduct their illegal activities.

"We have seized cannabis and a large amount of equipment used for growing cannabis farms.

“We are continuing to urge the public to come forward with information about drugs activity in their local area.

"Yesterday’s actions were a direct result of information from the local community and this is just another example of police acting on this information.”

No arrests have been made, however, enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their local area is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
