TWO puppies that were stolen during a burglary have been found after an appeal.
Police appealed for information from members of the public yesterday evening after the lilac tan English bulldog pups were taken during a break-in at a house on Whitchurch Way in Runcorn in the early hours of Tuesday, September 29.
And the dogs were found in the Widnes area last night, although no arrests have yet been made.
Their owners had been left ‘devastated’ after the burglary at around 2.30am.
Detective constable Ciara Murphy said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who shared the social media appeals and helped to locate the puppies.
“While the dogs have been located, the investigation to trace the people responsible remains ongoing.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries we want to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the Whitchurch Way area of Runcorn overnight or believes they have CCTV footage which could be relevant to our investigation.
“The same goes for anyone who thinks they may know the identities of the burglars.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML816073, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
