A MAN has been arrested in connection with a reported stranger rape in Middlesbrough.

Officers have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a reported stranger rape which reportedly occurred inside a property on Crescent Road in Middlesbrough in the early hours of Friday, September 25.

The man has been released with bail conditions pending further enquiries.

Officers are still appealing for anyone with private CCTV footage which shows a man and the female victim walking along in the areas of Union Street, Princes Road, Finsbury Road, Costa Street and Crescent Road between 11pm on Thursday, September 24 and 12.30am on Friday, September 25 to contact police as a matter of urgency.

Anyone with CCTV footage or anyone with information from the time/area prior to the incident is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 138571.
