A WOMAN has died in Newton Aycliffe, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to the Greenfield area of the town on Friday morning (September 18) following calls from concerned residents.
Four double crewed ambulances, fire appliances and a number of police vehicles attended the scene.
The area remained cordoned off with police on scene for several hours.
A statement from Durham Constabulary said: "Officers were called to an address in Ladybower, Newton Aycliffe, just after 9am this morning.
"Sadly a woman in her 30s, who had underlying health conditions, was found deceased inside the property.
"It is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
