EMERGENCY services were called to a street in Newton Aycliffe this morning.
Police, ambulances and firefighters were called to Greenlee Garth in the town just before 10am.
The area has been cordoned off and police remain on scene.
The North East Ambulance said in a statement: "We were called at 9.56am to a private address in the Greenfield area of Newton Aycliffe.
"We dispatched a clinical care manager, four double crewed ambulances and three crews from our Hazard Area Response Team.”
Durham Constabulary has been contacted for a statement.
