A FATHER arrested on suspicion of murdering his own son has spoken of his shock.
Charles Clark and his wife Doris were both arrested following a cold-case review of their son Steven's disappearance almost 30 years ago.
The 23-year-old went missing during a post-Christmas walk with his mother on Saltburn seafront in December 1992.
Now the elderly couple say they have endured a 'terrible' couple of days after murder detectives turned up at their Marske home.

Mr Clark said: "There's not a lot we can say at the minute other than it has been a terrible couple of days and we are still really shocked by what has happened.
"We will have to wait until next month to find out what is happening."
The couple were released on police bail, which they are due to answer in four weeks' time.
Detectives from the Cleveland and North Yorkshire Cold Case Unit reopened the case earlier this year and have been conducting an investigation into the circumstances of Steven's disappearance (pictured above).
As a result of this, and due to there being no proof of life, detectives believe that Steven has come to serious harm and a murder inquiry has been launched.
The missing person report said that Steven was last seen at 3pm when he went to use the public toilets near to the pier.
