POLICE have arrested a naked man at a popular nature reserve following several complaints.
A Durham Police spokesperson said officers had received a number of calls on Monday and Tuesday of a naked man walking around Waldridge Fell, between Chester-le-Street and Edmondsley.
The spokesperson added: "Officers attended and conducted searches on both days. On Tuesday afternoon, PCSOs who were dispatched to assist with the search located a naked man matching the description on the fell.
"The PCSOs detained the man until a police officer attended the location him. The man was subsequently taken to custody and has since been helping officers with inquiries.
"We will be carrying out additional patrols in the locality. If you have any concerns please speak to an officer."
Police have urged anyone who has witnessed a naked man on Waldridge Fell in the last few days to contact them on 101 or through the force's Live Chat quoting incident reference DHM-15092020-0217.
