THE date for when daily Newcastle to Dubai flights will resume has been revealed - and it confirms the airline is making a return to the region.

Emirates is now selling flights from the North-East, several months after the route was suspended due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Online, the official website shows flights for sale from Wednesday, December 2 with almost daily flights throughout the whole winter period.

Although the airline did not officially confirm the return date of Newcastle flights, Newcastle Airport said it was looking forward to welcoming the airline back. 

A spokesperson for Newcastle Airport said: “Flights between Newcastle and Dubai are on sale from the 1st December 2020.

"We are looking forward to welcoming Emirates back to the region and passengers traveling to Dubai and beyond.”

A spokesperson for Emirates said: "Emirates Airline is currently operating 36 flights per week from the UK to Dubai – three daily from London Heathrow, one daily from Manchester, four weekly from Glasgow and four weekly from Birmingham.

“We are closely monitoring the situation as it evolves, and we hope to resume more services as soon as conditions allow. This includes receiving government approvals, the easing of travel restrictions, and commercial demand. We will announce any service resumption when we are in a position to do so.”
