FRESH new images have been released which show what a brand new Wetherspoon pub will look like once it opens next year.

The pub chain is currently developing the former, The Buck Inn on Northallerton High Street into another one of its pubs.

Wetherspoon, which has a pub in Thirsk, said development work will finally begin later this month on September 28.

The Northern Echo previously reported the pub was originally set to open earlier this year, with a target open date of August 4.

But in a fresh update, Wetherspoon said the £2.5m to redevelop the pub would also create 50 new full and part-time jobs.

The pub, which will retain the name, will also feature 6,500 sq ft of customer space and its own beer garden.

Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: “We are delighted that development work is to start later this month.

“We believe the new pub will be a great asset to the area and hopefully act as a catalyst for further investment in Northallerton.

“We are confident that the new pub will appeal to a wide range of people.”
