PASSENGERS at Darlington Railway Station should expect delays of up to 20 minutes across all routes.
Due to points of failure in the Darlington area, trains running through the station may be delayed by up to 20 minutes.
Disruption, first reported at 9.38am, is expected until 12.00pm and affects Cross Country, LNER and Transpennine services.
Problems are not affecting Northern services.
Passengers experiencing delays may be entitled to compensation. A train ticket and any notes of the journey, like timings, will support any claim.
Paul Rutter, route director for Network Rail’s East Coast Route, said: “We’re sorry for the disruption passengers between Northallerton and Darlington this morning. There is minor damage to the overhead line power equipment, at Hutton Bonville, north of Northallerton.
“Our teams have assessed the damage and made it safe for trains to run through the affected area. Please check your journey with National Rail Enquiries or your train operator if you are planning to travel."
