THE best and worst towns for coronavirus contact tracing in the North-East has been revealed.

Latest figures from the Department of Health shows how many people the NHS Test and Trace system has managed to track down in 14 weeks.

When visiting venues including restaurants, cafes and pubs, you are required to fill out a test and trace form in the event of a positive covid-19 test.

This information is then passed onto NHS Test and Trace, who advise close contacts of the affected case to self-isolate or seek a test.

The data, which is from May 28 to September 2, has ranked every single local authority area in their ability to reach close contacts of such cases.
