TEESSIDE'S largest commercial law firm has played a key role in two deals totalling £9 million which are set to have a major part in the regeneration of Middlesbrough’s town centre.

The Endeavour Partnership has supported Middlesbrough Council’s acquisition of Captain Cook Square for £8 million and the House of Fraser building for £1 million.

The purchases are a strategic move by the local authority to protect the future of the town centre and take control of any future redevelopment.

Simon Wake, Partner and Head of Commercial Property at The Endeavour Partnership, said: “Middlesbrough Council is fully committed to the regeneration of the town’s centre and I am delighted that Endeavour Partnership has played such a key role in what are significant commercial property acquisitions.

“These deals, assisted throughout by our vastly experienced corporate and commercial team, will support the council’s ambition to attract the right mix of retail, leisure and residential projects for Middlesbrough, in turn bringing a visitor and economic boost to the area.”

It is hoped the deals will form the basis of a £20 million bid to the Government’s Future High Streets Fund.
