In Memories on Saturday, we featured some pictures from the mayoral year of Eric and Doreen Jackson, who were Darlington's first citizens in 1970-71.

At the end of the year, The Northern Echo presented the couple with three albums of photographs chronicling their year, which Doreen still treasures.

Here is another selection from the albums - if you know anything about any of the people on the pictures, we'd love to hear from you.

The Northern Echo: Princess Anne arrives on May 27, 1970, to open Darlington Town Hall. She is flanked by the mayor and mayoress as she walks along the red carpet at Feethams to greet the bewigged town clerk, CNS Nicholson

Mr Fletcher held the Darlington seat from 1964 until his death in 1983. In the light jacket is defeated Conservative, Anthony Bourne-Arton, who had been MP from 1959 until 1964. The Liberal candidate, Stuart Newton, with a cheroot between his fingers, is also present
