A NORTH-EAST hotel has reopened 74 extra 'apartments' after a major multi-million pound refurbishment - and it is quite different to what you might expect.

After almost two years worth of work, Roomzzz has reopened its only North-East aparthotel and we got the chance to have a look around.

Located near Newcastle Central Railway Station, the venue has been attracting guests in the city since 2012.

But after expanding its existing Friar House, a new seven-storey annexe has been created with scores of impressive apartments.

'The investment has been well spent'

Naveen Ahmed, chief executive, said: “Roomzzz Newcastle has always been a popular property with leisure and business guests alike.

"The investment has been well spent and the expansion and improvement are incredible.

"We are pleased to say that despite the pandemic, business for Roomzzz, both here in Newcastle and across the UK is growing and showing positive signs of a decent recovery.

"The popularity of aparthotels is increasing as they are a perfect choice for guests in a safety-conscious world, due to the fact they are self-contained, with their own kitchen amenities.”
