Officers from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Team and Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit (CDSOU) carried out an operation to target vehicles with no insurance using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) yesterday (Wednesday).
The operation was carried out around the central Middlesbrough area and the Newport areas.
Four men were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary, thefts from motor vehicles and prison recall.
Five vehicles were seized, five traffic offence reports were issued for no insurance, five stop searches were carried out, one antisocial behaviour report was submitted and a fixed penalty was issued.
