Police are appealing to the public for information following a serious assault in Newburn.
Shortly before 3am on Tuesday, police received a report of a fight ongoing on Hareside Walk.
Officers attended and found a 20-year-old man with serious but non-life threatening injuries consistent with a stabbing.
A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent and has since been released under investigation.
Now investigating officers are appealing to the public for any information which can help with enquiries or for any further witnesses to come forward.
