A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a serious collision in North Yorkshire
North Yorkshire Police said the A61 near Thirsk is closed following a crash between a car and a bicycle at Carlton Miniott.
A male cyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary following the collision, which happened at about 3.10pm.
A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was called to Station Road, Thirsk at 3.10pm to a collision involving a car and a push bike.
She added: "We had an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance attend the scene.
"One male patient was taken to hospital in the air ambulance."
The road has now reopened.
