It’s National Afternoon Tea Week next week- which is the perfect excuse to sample to very best miniature cakes and finger sandwiches in Warrington.

Room Forty offers a traditional vintage tea experience - all from your own home. They afternoon teas are a steal at  just £14 per person and include sandwiches, scones and three homemade patisserie.

Jen Perry, baker and owner of Room Forty, said her business stands out as they “don’t do big cakes” and all food is made using locally sourced ingredients.

White Hart

The White Hart on Sankey Street serves “quality cakes” and a selection of finger sandwiches for £14.95. For that price, you also get a glass of fizz and a pot of tea.

If you want to transform this into a boozy afternoon tea, you can add a bottle of prosecco for £15.

Halls Victorian Sweetshop and Tea Room

If you are looking for afternoon tea you can enjoy at home or at a picnic, then this place in Glazebury is perfect.

They do afternoon teas for collection (£24.99) or delivery (£29.99)

The Table

A high tea will cost £15 and consists of finger sandwiches, mini quiches, homemade cakes. The Table also serve their signature heart shaped scones with clothes cream, jam and fresh berries.

If you fancy a tipple, you can upgrade to a Sparkling High Tea for £18.50- your afternoon tea will be served with a flute of prosecco, Peroni beer or a mocktail.

There are also gluten free or vegan options available- ask about them when you book.

The Blue Bell

Afternoon tea at The Blue Bell in the town centre will cost £14.95 per person - and it comes with tea and a glass of prosecco too.

Scones, slices of cake and dainty sandwiches are all on the menu- all served on a beautiful tiered platter.
