POLICE are appealing for information after a Middlesbrough 18-year-old was hit in the face with glass.

Just after 2.15am this morning, Sunday August 2, officers were called to Linthorpe Road by the ambulance service who were treating an 18-year-old man for facial injuries.

His injuries are consistent with being assaulted with a bottle or glass.

The man was treated at the scene then taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he received further treatment before being released this morning.

While officers have not received an official complaint of assault, inquiries are ongoing and they are asking for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.
