TWO men have been arrested after a Chinese takeway was robbed in Saltburn, where a man in his 70s and woman in her 50s were assaulted.
Two men, 37 and 41, have been arrested and charged in connection with a report of a robbery at a Chinese restaurant and takeaway business in Saltburn.
It is alleged a 70-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were assaulted during the incident, which is reported to have taken place on Amber Street just after 8am yesterday, Saturday August 1.
They were treated by ambulance staff at the scene.
The two men were charged with robbery and with assault on an emergency worker and have been remanded to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday August 3.
Detectives are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward, or anyone with private or business CCTV which may help inquiries.
