THE following cases were among those heard at Teesside Magistrates’ Court during the last week.

JAMIE LEE COCKRAM,from Redcar, appeared in court after driving a silver Vauxhall Astra on Trunk Road while having cocaine in his blood while not being insured. The 30-year-old man pleaded guilty to both charges and was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. He was also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.

PAUL EVIS MCCABE, from Middlesbrough, was handed a £120 fine and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge to fund victim services after he failed to stop a motorbike, which he was riding without due care and attention on Easson Street, when required to do so by a constable in uniform. He had also consumed a level of alcohol that exceeded the prescribed limit. The 31-year-old was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 22 months.

BARZAN KADIR, of Middlesbrough, threatened Cleveland Police that he would damage a police vehicle belonging to Cleveland Police, without lawful excuse, intending that they would fear the threat would be carried out. The 35-year-old was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 to fund victim services.

CONNOR RIDDELL, of County Durham, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £32 to fund victim services and pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service for driving a black BMW in Hartlepool, on Howbeck Lane, without insurance. The 22-year-old was also given six points on his licence.

JORDAN ANTONY WEBB, from Stockton, was caught driving a Peugeot on Yarm Lane, while disqualified and uninsured. The man, 30, was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge of £32 to fund victim services and to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service as well as six points on his licence.

THOMAS MATTHEW BLYTHE, from Hartlepool, was fined £40 for breaching a community order made by Teesside (Middlesbrough) Magistrates Court on January 30. The 26-year-old failed to attend unpaid work appointments twice and one Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) appointment.

THOMAS PATRICK KIRWAN, 40, from Cleveland, was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months after driving in Middlesbrough under the influence of controlled drugs, benzoylecgonine, cocaine and amphetamine which exceeded the specified limits. The man, who also did not have insurance, was disqualified from driving for 16 months, fined £140, ordered to pay a surcharge of £32 to fund victims services and pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

LEVIS CHUNJU, from Middlesbrough, was fined £350 after drink driving on Crescent Road. The 35-year-old, who was not insured and did not have a licence to drive a vehicle of that class, consumed so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the prescribed limit. He was also disqualified from driving for 20 months, ordered to pay a surcharge of £35 to fund victims services and pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

LIAM NEIL EVANS, from Stockton, was fined £80, ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 to fund victims services and pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service after resisting a constable in the execution of his duty.
