A team of 14 special constables, who are volunteer police officers, pulled on their boots and set about searching for people who were wanted for a number of serious offences.
They carried out warrants in Redcar and Middlesbrough and arrested two people – a man on suspicion of sexual offences, and a woman wanted on suspicion of assault.
The work was part of Operation Phoenix, the Cleveland Police summer long crackdown on crime.
Specials Sergeant Dan Baker said: “Operation Phoenix is designed to see an improved public service from Cleveland Police, provide more help for vulnerable people – such as those suffering domestic abuse – and more officers tackling serious violence. I am pleased with the results of the operation this evening and we will continue as a team to support the communities of Cleveland and continue to execute warrants on wanted people so that we can bring them into custody for questioning.”
