TWO people were taken to hospital with broken bones following a crash on the A19.
The crash happened at about 7pm last night near to Low Burntoft Farm in Hartlepool, on the southbound carriageway.
It involved a gold Vauxhall Meriva and a grey Audi A4.
Police said the driver of the Meriva, a man aged in his sixties, suffered a broken collarbone and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.
He remains in hospital whilst receiving treatment.
The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and a female passenger, aged in her thirties, suffered a broken ankle.
She was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees and later released.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage which could assist the police investigation, is asked to contact PC Nigel Green from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 122697.
