THIS week’s bouquet of the week goes to a family-run business which has been serving the community for three generations.
Nominated by customer Eileen Shepherd, our bouquet was presented to Michael Todd, of W Todd Butchers, on Haughton Green, Darlington.
Eileen said: “During the lockdown this business has gone way beyond what is expected of them. They have altered the way they work in order to help their customers, and had a system up and running to give everyone some degree of safety.
“Even though their phones have never stopped ringing, they have remained calm and efficient enabling customers to continue to place orders. These folk are indeed hidden heroes.
“They are always cheerful and have been a part of our community for such a long time. They are an amazing business and I don’t know what people would have done without them. They are deserving of an award.
“For the village to have such a good shop is amazing.”
W Todd Butchers has been on Haughton Green for three generations. During lockdown the family introduced an order and collect service, which has been a lifeline to many, and intends to continue with that service while there is the demand.
