MATT Vickers, MP for Stockton South has reached out to The Moses Project to thank and praise them for their heroic work in the community during the Covid-19 crisis.

The Moses Project who provide guidance, mentoring and support to hundreds of adults with past and current addictions to drugs and alcohol, have stepped up during the coronavirus crisis.

Working with other local community groups, volunteers and supermarkets they have been delivering food to the most vulnerable.

Their work has been more integral than ever providing food and essentials to the elderly who have not been able to leave the house during lockdown.

Mr Vickers presented The Moses Project with a certificate and chocolates as a token of gratitude and thanks during an impromptu visit.

The Moses Project later that day posted to their Facebook page saying: “Fantastic Friday lovely visit from Matt Vickers MP presenting an award together with Chocolates from The House of Commons.”

Mr Vickers said: “This is the most rewarding part of being an MP. This crisis has brought out the very best in society, it has thrown a spotlight on heroes in our communities, who in the face of hardship and adversity have stepped up and done so much to protect the most vulnerable.

“After seeing the work they do, I am in complete awe of the graft these guys have put in to offer support to those who have been unable to feed themselves during the pandemic.

“I just wanted to recognise their amazing work and let them know I will always be around to support them in anyway I can.”
