A 34-year-old man has appeared at court after an incident involving a machete over the weekend.
Michael Alexander Winn, of West Street, Chester-Le-Street is accused of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a machete on Albert Street, in Grange Villa on Saturday.
Mr Winn denied the charges at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court this morning and will appear at Peterlee Magistrates' Court for trial on September 23.
