THE family of the cyclist who lost his life in a crash on the A689 on Friday have today paid tribute to him.

Graham Pattison, 49, from Hartlepool, sadly died in a crash when he was travelling on his pedal cycle on the A689 eastbound between Wynyard and Sedgefield.

Graham’s family said: “Graham was a dearly loved husband, father and son.

“We are in shock at his loss and our lives will never be the same without him.”

The family have asked for privacy as they grieve together.

Police continue to appeal for information and witnesses to the incident which occurred at approximately 4.10pm on Friday July 24 involving a white Ford Fiesta and black Audi TT.

A 22-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage which may assist to contact Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101, reference 119601.

Prior to the collision the white Ford Fiesta and the black Audi TT vehicles were seen leaving the A1 so police are also requesting any information on the vehicles prior to 4.10pm.
