A MAN has been arrested after about 20 thefts were reported from motor vehicles around Marske and Redcar.
Police say about 20 thefts from cars were reported over the last three nights.
A 34-year-old man in connection with the incidents.
Investigations are ongoing in connection with the incident.
Officers are reminding members of the public not to leave valuable items on display in their vehicles, as this could attract thieves.
Chief Inspector Jon Grainge said: “Becoming a victim of crime in any sense is distressing and we want to help prevent these crimes if we can.
"There are things that we can remind the public to do in order to try to prevent as many crimes as possible.
"Taking simple measures like removing valuables from cars and even leaving glove boxes open to show there is nothing in them can help deter a thief from targeting your vehicle.”
