OFFICERS searching for missing man have found a body on the beach.
Police were called at around 8pm last night, Monday 20th July, by a member of the public who had located a body on the beach near Newburn Bridge in Hartlepool.
Whilst no formal identification has yet taken place, officers have informed the family of 43-year-old Mark Reid, who had been reported missing on Sunday 12th July after visiting family in the Hartlepool area.
Cleveland Police said that their thoughts remain with the family at this difficult time.
Mr Reid, also known as Clease, is from London but missing after visiting family in Hartlepool on Tuesday, June 30.
His mother, Karen Barber, appealed for her only son to return home last week.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
