A NATIONWIDE survey has revealed the UKs best and worst seaside towns - with nine in the region making the list.
More than 100 seaside towns have been ranked by 4,000 people, giving us a clue as to which destinations are proving a hit with tourists.
It is based on the average hotel rate, seafront, food and drink, attractions, scenery, shopping, peace and quiet and value for money.
St Mawes in Cornwall has been given an overall satisfaction rate of 85 percent, with Dartmouth on the Devon coast following behind with 84 percent.
But in the North-East and North Yorkshire, our seaside towns and beaches have scored a hit with visitors.
Although the range of responses are extremely varied with around 15 percent between the best and worst.
