The best and worst GP surgeries in Northallerton, Thirsk and North Yorkshire

100 percent of patients at Staithes Surgery in Saltburn, part of the Whitby Coast and Moors Primary Care Network, said their overall experience was good.

Each year, the NHS asks patients for their views of their registered practices and publishes the results.

It includes a range of criteria including ease of making an appointment, their practice's website, the helpfulness of receptionists and whether needs were met.

87 percent of patients at Staithes Surgery said their experience was very good, while another 13 percent said it was fairly good.

On the other end of the scale, the lowest performing practices all saw just 79 percent of patients saying their overall experience was good.

These were the Derwent Practice in Malton, Brook Square Surgery in Scarborough, Glebe House Surgery in Bedale.

The results are part of the GP Patient Survey, an independent survey run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England.

It is the largest survey of its kind as is used by the NHS as a key source of insight.

The results for North Yorkshire may include some surgeries in Cleveland as they fall under the NHS North Yorkshire CCG.
