AN appeal against conviction by the former owner of Darlington Football Club for harassment has been adjourned until September.
George Reynolds was found guilty of harassing Durham County Councillor Heather Smith over a planning row.
The 84-year-old, of Monument Court, Durham, lodged his appeal following conviction at Teesside Magistrates' Court in September last year.
The charge related to Reynolds visiting the councillor’s home in Hamsterley and shouting at her before sending her letters.
Cllr Smith had previously objected to a planning application submitted by the defendant to build holiday pods in Toft Hill, near Bishop Auckland.
The businessman was charged with breaching the order in February and is due to stand trial later this year.
