A SUSPECTED thief has been remanded into custody after being charged with stealing clothing from a washing line.
The alleged incident occurred on Miller Close in Palmersville, North Tyneside, on June 30.
Other incidents have taken place over recent months and also include cash being stolen from parked vehicles, and break-ins at a number of homes and sheds in the area.
Malcolm Pyke, 43, from Canterbury Avenue, Wallsend has been charged with four counts of burglary, two counts of theft and two counts of motor vehicle interference.
He appeared at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on June 3 and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on July 31.
Detective Constable Dave Jobling, of Northumbria Police, said he hopes the charge reassures communities that this type of criminality is being investigated.
