WITH the Government announcing the reopening of pubs on Saturday, here is how some of the premises in Durham will be operating to keep staff and customers as safe as possible.
Some of the pubs that are opening with restrictions in place are:
The Boat Club is operating a booking system for both food and drink for the foreseeable future. This is to ensure the protection of staff and customers. Bookings on Saturday, July 4 have now been booked between the hours of 11am and 9pm. Bookings are available on their website.
For those who have booked, you will be greeted at the front door by a host, who will direct you to your booking location and your server. All orders will be taken at your table via a designated server.
Ye olde Elm Tree will be reopening on Saturday, July 4.
The Fighting Cocks will open at 11:00am July 4. The pub will be operating normal opening and closing hours. Working on a first come first serve basis and having a maximum of six in a group and only operating by table service.
When entering the pub customers will be asked to provide their name and contact number in order to follow the current guidelines for track and trace.
The Three Bridges, will be reopening this Saturday, July 4 12pm with reduced opening hours 12pm-10pm, with food served until 9pm.
There are designated entry and exit points - enter the pub via the main entrance at the and exit at the front top fire exit - and one-metre social distancing to be maintained at all times.
Customers may need to queue outside if we do not have a table available for you on arrival and you will be seated at a table by a member of staff. Customers are to remain at their tables during their visit with groups no larger than six people.
To make ordering quicker it is recommended to download the MYPUB app to allow contactless ordering and payment if this is not possible one person per table can order from the bar.
All food and drinks will be brought to your table by a member of staff, whether ordered via the app or at the bar. Food and drinks may only be consumed whilst seated, including in the outside areas
The Market Tavern will be reopening on July 6 with a booking system. Bookings can be made via their website.
Whiskey River is taking bookings for Saturday and the foreseeable future. They will be operating a table service only with strict rules on capacity and distancing. To book drop them a message via Facebook with your name, contact number and the number of people in your party.
Old Tom’s Gin Bar will be re-opening Saturday, July 4, at 9am. Customers are advised to check back on Facebook for more updates.
Tin of Sardines Gin Bar will be reopening on July 4 at 11am. For bookings please message the bar on Facebook
Head of Steam will be opening Saturday, July 4.
