A 35-year-old man has appeared at court charged with affray and possession of a kitchen knife.
Michael Paul Charlton appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, July 2) where he pleaded not guilty to both offences.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in Annfield Way, in Stanley, on Boxing Day last year.
Mr Charlton, who was represented in court by David Malone, will face trial at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on August 10.
