THREE brothers have appeared in court following disorder which broke out on beaches across North Tyneside.
Police were deployed after after a number of reports claiming some beach-goers were fighting and causing disorder in Tynemouth and Cullercoats on Thursday.
An investigation was launched and officers carried out a range of inquiries, which led to the arrest of eight males aged between 15 and 28.
Three of those arrested, all from Gateshead, were charged in connection with the incidents and appeared in court on affray charges.
Tony Cowell, 27, of Lough Court, Jordan Cowell, 21, of Bewick Road, and Michael Cowell, 26, of Warwick Court, have all been charged with affray and appeared before magistrates in Newcastle on Saturday.
They are next due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on July 24.
